Province de l’Iran, à l’ouest et au sud-ouest d’Isfa ムan (Ispahan), le Lurist n (ou Louristan) doit son nom aux peuples lur, qui utilisent des dialectes de la famille iranienne (du groupe sud-occidental des langues iraniennes). Le Lurist n (28 560 km2, 1 367 029 hab. en 1986) s’étend essentiellement sur les chaînes et vallées du Zagros central; il est occupé principalement par la grande confédération des Bakhtiy r 稜, nomades et semi-nomades qui vont hiverner dans le Kh zist n. Sa capitale est Khorram b d (208 592 hab.). La région gravite dans l’orbite commerciale d’Isfa ムan (986 753 hab.).

Luristân ou Lorestân
prov. montagneuse de l'Iran occidental (28 803 km²; 1 370 000 hab.). En 1929, on découvrit, dans des tombeaux mégalithiques, de nombreux "bronzes du Luristân" (Ier millénaire av. J.-C.): armes, mors de chevaux, figurines, bijoux.
